Personal Assistance Services, commonly called PAS, may fit an agency focused on helping clients with daily activities and personal care.
Selecting PAS does not automatically allow an agency to provide every service a client may need. The agency's services, policies, and staffing must remain within its approved scope.
Home Health Services
Home Health may be appropriate for an agency planning to provide skilled services through licensed healthcare professionals.
Texas distinguishes between Licensed Home Health Services and Licensed and Certified Home Health Services. The right category depends partly on the planned services, payment sources, and whether federal certification is part of the agency's long-term plan.
Hospice Services
Hospice is a separate category for agencies planning to provide coordinated end-of-life care.
Its clinical structure, staffing plan, and policies must be designed specifically for hospice services. It should not be selected simply as an additional service an agency may want to offer later.
